Hi! I’m Jude, a Pushcart-nominated trans poet (he/him). After a varied career as a librarian, IT support person, server and barperson, homecare provider, etc. etc., I decided to make my childhood dream come true and be a writer. In for a penny, so I also moved to the US from the UK and went back to school. Now I have an MFA from Georgia College in Milledgeville, GA, a PhD from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and my first full length poetry collection, We Know Each Other By Our Wounds, came out in November 2020 from Animal Heart Press. I also have a chapbook, Breakfast for the Birds (Finishing Line Press, 2017) and my poems have appeared in multiple publications, both in print and online. I am currently putting together a new collection, a mix of eco and trans. I lived in the US for 10 years, during which time I taught creative writing, composition, and literature, and also ran a writing center. Now I’m back living in the UK, but with poetic feet firmly planted on both sides of the Atlantic. I am currently offering an intro to creative writing evening class at Hereford College of Arts, and I also do work for Animal Heart Press, wonderful people I got to know when they published me. I’ve read for several journals over the years - right now, it’s SWWIM Daily, $Poetry Is Currency and Feral: A Journal of Poetry and Art. And I’m also in the market for more freelance clients.
